Number Tracing Mats for Numbers to 10

These full-page tracing mats are great for number printing practice. Print, laminate, and use over and over!
Today, we’re focusing on printing numbers.
And so I’d like to introduce a new resource: a set of number tracing mats.
These bright, cheery, full-page number tracing pages are designed for young children in preschool and kindergarten who are working on printing numbers 1 to 10.
Let’s take a look!
Tell me about these number tracing mats!
This resource includes 11 number mats – ten focusing on an individual number, and one for tracing all numbers from 1 to 10 in order.

Numbers are shown in close-up, with guidance for forming the number correctly. Children can trace the large number with their finger, following the arrows to ensure they are forming the number correctly (and starting at the dot!).

There are also three rows of numbers for tracing, plus space for children to practise writing the number independently underneath.

How to use these number tracing pages
There are a couple of different ways to use these number mats. Because they come in both colour and black ink versions, they’re pretty versatile.
1. Laminate and use a dry erase marker
The colour versions are great for laminating (or if you don’t have a laminator, you can put the sheet inside a plastic sleeve/punched pocket instead). Children can then complete the number tracing activity with a dry-erase marker.
The great thing about using them this way is that you when your child or students are finished with the number mats, you can wipe them clean and they’re ready to use again another time.

If there are specific numbers your child or students need to practice, they can complete the same page multiple times. After all, learning to print numbers correctly is something that takes time to master, so reusable resources are always a bonus.

2. Make a number tracing booklet
Another option is to print the black ink version and make all pages into a number tracing booklet, which children can complete with a pencil.

This way, children can work through the pages at their own pace.
You might want to print the final page (with number tracing for all numbers from 1 to 10) multiple times so that children have lots of practice pages for writing the numbers in order. Great for short bursts of number writing (little and often is the way to go!)

Where can I find these number tracing pages?
